BOB CARLTON was founded under the Southern French sun in 2018, inspired by the elegant lifestyle found in Cannes during the 1960s.

2018

BOB CARLTON takes his first steps… on the sand of the Croisette! We start our journey on the beaches of Cannes where we’ve sold almost 100 bags during this first summer.

We have our first pop-up retail outlet in Cap 3000, Nice (the most frequented shopping centre on the Côte d’Azur).

We are showcasing a range of travel bags and accessories this Christmas period at Galeries Lafayette, one of the most established department stores in France.

2019

We are excited to announce our first partnership with one of the most iconic hotels on the French Riviera: The Hôtel du Cap Eden Roc

BOB is continuing his journey in style at The Bristol Hotel, Paris where our bags are available in the boutique.

BOB CARLTON is becoming part of the label Côte d’Azur France, this brand promotes the French Riviera worldwide.

Come and visit us at the Made in France salon at the Porte de Versailles, Paris where handcrafted products carrying the label of “Made in France” are being shown.

2020

We are partnering with the renowned Yacht Club de Monaco. In this establishment our brand’s nautical inspiration is perfectly represented.

This summer, our collection is available at The Hôtel de Paris, the most luxurious hotel in Monaco.

2021

BOB CARLTON continues his Monégasque adventure with the opening of our first concept store on Boulevard Princesse Grace.

We are pleased to announce that we are taking part in the Monaco Classic week where our products are shown amongst the world’s most beautiful, vintage wooden yachts.

We are proud to welcome Laneva Boats aboard, an exciting collaboration with the future of electric yachting.

Arthur, a young French entrepreneur based in Cannes, noticed during his travels that the luggage market is comprised of low-end fast fashion products or alternatively high-end luxury products often exclusively available in dark and somber colours with nothing in-between the two.

Thus, in 2017 he decided to launch his brand with an elegantly coloured travel bag combining French savoir-faire and high-quality materials to offer a unique piece of merchandise.

During his adventures in faraway Australia, Arthur often frequented a well-known coffee shop for his morning espresso and was asked his name to write on the cup. His accent posed problems with “Arthur” (pronounced “Arfffer”) mistaken for Alfred, Henry and all manner of other variations. Exhausted with this daily palaver Arthur decided to call himself BOB.

It made his friends laugh and the nickname stuck.

A lover of cinema, he remembered a famous western character… Bill Carlson and the name BOB CARLTON was born!
